Craften reinvents the food hall experience in tertiary markets.

We’ve all been there. You’re going out to eat at a food hall with a group of friends or family—one of you wants tacos; another wants pizza; you want a salad. You’ll all wait in separate lines for different periods of time (could be five minutes, could be 15 minutes) to place your orders, then meet back at your table; sit down and chat for a few minutes; then all go back and get your food. In about an hour, you’ve spent more time waiting in line than having actual conversation. But what if it didn’t have to be that way? ......

Part food hall, part restaurant, Craften may be coming to a Triangle suburb near you

Coming out of the pandemic, restaurants are at a crossroads. The last year has asked questions of delivery and takeout, tipping and labor, downtowns and suburbs and what exactly it means to be a restaurant. With something of a food hall hybrid, a new concept aims to rethink what a food hall is and where we’re likely to find them. Coty Manufacturing

Development of a master experience design plan for the entrance sequence, highway to front door, to their office/warehouse/manufacturing plant in Sanford, NC. The goal was to give both visitors and staff a meaningful experience as they came to the building and its grounds. For employees it was developing better walking experiences from their cars to the entrance and for visitors; it was about the total experience from driving in to leaving their car and walking up to the building for the first time. Along with strong wayfinding, landscaping and amenity structures were designed to enhance the arrival and tell the Coty story.

Floating, prefabricated, wood frames clad with sand-toned terracotta baguettes provide a dynamic and harmonious experience with the Al Wathba Wetland Reserve. Delicate and respectful construction allows the natural environment to reclaim portions of the site previously taken by human intervention, providing a hands-on and integrative encounter between the visitor and the landscape. This project creates a holistic and inclusive environment for learning and recreation with a solution driven by the desire to let the architecture serve to enhance the landscape – not the other way around.
