International Architecture Competition for a Flamingo Visitor Center located in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. This project creates a holistic and inclusive environment for learning and recreation with a solution driven by the desire to let the architecture serve to enhance the landscape – not the other way around.
Floating, prefabricated, wood frames clad with sand-toned terracotta baguettes provide a dynamic and harmonious experience with the Al Wathba Wetland Reserve. Delicate and respectful construction allows the natural environment to reclaim portions of the site previously taken by human intervention, providing a hands-on and integrative encounter between the visitor and the landscape.
